Oil and gas helpers assist in the extraction and processing of oil and gas. They work under the supervision of drilling and extraction workers, performing various tasks to support the drilling, extraction, and maintenance of oil and gas equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and setup of drilling and extraction equipment.
- Operate and maintain drilling rigs, pumps, and other machinery.
- Monitor and record pressure, temperature, and flow rates during drilling operations.
- Help in the assembly and disassembly of drilling and extraction equipment.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the drilling site.
- Clean and maintain the work area, equipment, and vehicles.
- Assist in the installation and repair of pipelines and storage tanks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drilling and extraction equipment.
- Help in the loading and unloading of materials and supplies.
- Assist in the operation of hoists, cranes, and other lifting equipment.
- Support the drilling crew in the handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Assist in the collection and disposal of waste materials from the drilling site.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the documentation and reporting of daily activities and incidents.
